JOB OVERVIEW

The Distribution Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of the distribution operation within the commissary, which primarily involves coordinating store order fulfillment and managing a fleet of trucks and driver team. This role is responsible for overseeing and executing the daily, weekly and long-term goals of the Distribution department as well as general management of the staff.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Develop, train and mentor new staff while acting as a resource for existing team members
* Assist in HR management for Distribution department, including but not limited to:
* Performance management
* Hiring, compensation evaluation, employee recognition
* Schedule-writing
* Discipline, termination


* Able to perform the duties of the Distribution team:
* Requisition packing
* Packing and Shipping Ecomm Orders
* Inventory
* Prep writing and daily checklist completion
* Special Orders/Wedding cakes
* Completing Daily Logs


* Day to day team management and ability to foresee, prevent and correct problems. Manage not only personal supervisor tasks but delegate team tasks
* Work closely with other departments:
* Understanding what information each department can give, and what effective collaboration looks like
* Communicate with Customer Service and Front of House to be able to troubleshoot customer-facing issues
* Work closely with Commissary Manager/Logistics & Distribution Manager to manage labor costs, while controlling food cost & waste through proper inventory management and product rotation
* Optimize all shipping and fulfillment practices for ecommerce. Manage and organize Inventory
* Supervise the Milk Van Fleet and ensure the safety of staff and vehicles. Augment driver routes due to road closures/special events/wedding deliveries/maintenance issues, etc.
* Work closely with Commissary Manager to determine daily, weekly and long-term needs of the Distribution department, delegate those tasks to appropriate staff and ensure successful completion of department goals
* Work closely with Commissary Managers and Logistics & Distribution Manager to assess future needs for continued growth, efficiency and promotion of Milk Bar
* Fully understand and exhibit the Milk Bar ethos, embodying our core values and inspiring celebration, and serve as a brand ambassador both internally and externally

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

* 1-2 years in a supervisory role at a high volume restaurant or food production facility
* Meticulous, hyper-organized, clean and consistent leader
* Food Protection certificate
* Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (safely lift up to 50 lbs.)
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google, Compeat Advantage, Shipstation
* Detail-oriented and proactive with an eye for efficiency and multi-tasking
* Strong leader with a positive, solution-oriented mindset
* Preferred but not required: bilingual - English/Spanish
