Position Summary

The Studio Photographer will take direction from our Director of Photography and is responsible for shooting high-quality digital photography for Moda Operandi.

What You'll Do
  • Working in the studio alongside stylists taking digital images of products
  • Ensuring that all products are lit correctly, efficiently and creatively, in accordance with brand guidelines
  • Producing high quality and consistently beautiful images, ensuring they are correctly exposed and color consistent
  • Perform quality assurance on all images
  • Prepare sets, checking that all equipment is functioning and setting up appropriate lighting to match our guides
  • Name and maintain digital asset files while accurately checking off daily shoot lists
  • Cropping and processing of all images, maintaining file size specification guidelines
  • Accurately archiving images to be easily accessed by other departments
  • Responsible for care and upkeep of all studio equipment, props and supplies

  • Produce photography in accordance to Moda Operandis style guides and creative direction
  • Continuously improve workflows and processes
  • Drive decisive on-set troubleshooting of photography challenges
  • Balance individual productivity and execution, while maintaining high standards for shooting images
  • Support the fellow photographers as an assistant and/or digital techwhen not shooting
  • Monitor and uphold high safety and quality standards
  • Advises and trains freelancers
  • Ability to work well within a team working while under pressure and with a flexible attitude
  • Proactive and able to take initiative
  • Detail oriented and creative
  • Possesses excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-driven and able to easily communicate creative ideas and collaborate in a team environment
  • Productivity-focused and proven to be a quick problem solver
  • Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally and work off-hours, as needed:
  • Professional experience in a commercial photography studio
  • Professional photography portfolio that demonstrates a working knowledge of digital photography, including: lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics
  • Shooting experience in an e-commerce photo studio with still life, on figure, and bust form
  • Accustomed to the intensity of the studio and location environment, and work well under pressure
  • Strong working knowledge of professional photography camera, lighting, and grip equipment
  • Proficient working knowledge of imaging software for Mac
  • Experience with imaging software and color management applications such as, PhotoShop, Capture One Pro, and i1pro
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in photography or related field required
