The New York State Psychiatric Institute is seeking a Scientific Project Coordinator to assist the Director of New York State Psychiatric Institute with management of diverse academic and scientific programs and initiative relating to mental health care, psychiatric medicine and neuroscience. This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a person with a clinical and/or scientific background who wants to work in an administrative support role with a dynamic chairman on a wide range of innovative projects in a leading academic psychiatric department with extremely talented and eminent faculty.
Primary responsibilities include doing background research, organizing meetings and drafting proposals and reports for clinical and scientific projects, and assisting in the oversight of their implementation and operation. The position will report to the Director of New York State Psychiatric Institute and work closely with him and his Office Manager and Chief of Staff.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates should have extensive clinical and/or research experience, excellent writing skills, internet and social media facility and social skills enabling them to work effectively with faculty and staff. Applicants must have the following minimum qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences or social sciences discipline
Minimum of 5 years' experience in research and/or mental health care
Possess good project management skills with a demonstrated ability to meet schedules and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Salary including full fringe benefit package is negotiable but dependent on credentials and level of experience.
