As doctor and nurse shortages rise and Baby Boomers age, the U.S. healthcare system is experiencing a major staffing crisis. Health systems spend $20 billion annually to hire and recruit clinicians using the painfully out-of-date staffing agency model. Nomad Health has flipped that model on its head and has introduced the first digital marketplace for healthcare jobs. Founded by serial entrepreneurs and physicians, including CEO Alexi Nazem, and Kevin Ryan, Chairman, Nomad is a fast-growing team of technologists, creators, and industry experts passionate about modernizing healthcare. Using cutting edge technology, data, and a commitment to building a delightful, easy-to-use product, Nomad is on a mission to eliminate barriers between doctors, nurses, and their patients. The Nomad platform gives doctors and nurses easy, transparent, self-service access to more job opportunities at higher pay rates than they can find anywhere else. This allows clinicians to focus on what really matters -- giving the best care possible to patients and serving their communities. Employers are able to fill critical medical staffing shortages, deal with fluctuations in personnel needs and streamline the hiring process, while saving valuable time and resources. Nomad is revolutionizing the healthcare workforce. How can you have an impact? Nomad recently raised $34M in a new growth investment financing to support the rapidly increasing demand for its services and to meet the needs of its multiplying customer base. As Nomad moves into a period of hypergrowth, a substantial portion of the new funding will go towards adding talent to our team. We expect to go from about 50 people today to 150+ by the end of 2020. Since its founding in 2015, Nomad has always prided itself on having an innovative, intelligent, and fun culture that puts its people first. This ethos has served the company well, and we aim to maintain and enhance it even as we multiply the size of Nomad Nation. Taking on this challenge will be the key mandate of the VP of People.
