Current NYS Justice Center for Protection of People with Special Needs employee with permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c status as a Program Aide and interested in reassignment; OR New York State employees with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c status as a Program Aide (previously Administrative Aide or Agency Program Aide); OR New York State employees with one year or more of permanent, contingent-permanent or 55b/c status in a position allocated to a Grade 11 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.- Prepare suggested questions, background material and necessary research for the attorney in the Office of the Special Prosecutor/Inspector General in support of legal proceedings.
- Complete routine investigative work and analysis for attorney review.
- Create and manage complex litigation files including administration of associated data base records.
- Prepare necessary administrative reports for submittal to the Counsels Office.
- Perform research in association with Adjudications and Prosecutions.
- Prepare, file and serve legal documents.
- Draft workflow reports including tabulating and creating Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and charts.
- Under the supervision of attorneys, draft legal responses to the courts or other interested parties as directed.
- Compile discovery for legal proceedings.
- Assist other administrative staff in SPIG as necessary.
- Review incoming correspondence and gather information relating to the correspondence.
- Follow up on correspondence requiring action or response.
- Transmit personnel-related matters and forms to appropriate staff.
- Attend meetings, take minutes and distribute accordingly.
- Maintain and update files as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
