Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Carpenter A.

In this role, the successful candidate installs and repairs doors/bucks, ceilings, and floor tiles, erects various types of partitions, and constructs formica shelves and cabinets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handles all facets of plant and building maintenance including the storage of hazardous materials and chemicals that the department utilizes
  • Perform other related duties as requested in a clean and safe manner
  • Perform miscellaneous jobs as required (clean ups, moving equipment etc)
  • Good knowledge of different types of wood and construction materials
  • Erect and repair brick or blcok walls, mix cement and concrete
  • Install and repair door frames, doors, windows, including hardware
  • Capable to install various types of hardware (lock, door closers etc)
  • Install and repair floor and wall ceramic or composite tiles
  • Construct suspeneded and accoustical and sheetrock ceilings
  • Erect various types of wood metal and sheetrock partition and walls
  • Proper usage of hand and power tools in a safety manner
  • Read drawing and prints and be able to fabricate items from them
  • Construct cabinets and furniture using different materials
  • Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 5 years of carpentry experience
  • Must have strong carpentry background and experience with power tools
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trade School graduate
