Responsibilities

Reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for managing all hands-on operational aspects of the company. Assists the CEO in the aggressive and successful growth of the company.

The COO provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The COO will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the operational aspects of the annual budget.

Finally, the COO provides leadership to the strategic planning process, implements new operational strategic initiatives that fosters coordination for the senior management team, and serves as liaison to OBXtek’s partners.

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors the adopted mission and core values of the company;
  • Develop new methods to achieve operational excellence and efficiency at the customer and corporate level
  • Responsible for driving the company to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow and business goals and objectives;
  • Continually drives performance assessment and performance improvement efforts to ensure a very good or better CPAR (Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting) evaluation
  • Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes;
  • Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; attract, recruit and retain required members of the operational team not currently in place;
  • Identify opportunities for OBXtek to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges;
  • Lead, coach, develop, and retain OBXtek’s high-performance senior management team with an emphasis on developing capacity in strategic analysis and planning and program budgeting;
  • Ensure the continued financial viability of OBXtek through sound fiscal management.
  • External Relationship Development:

  • Manage and cultivate existing relationships to secure and expand recurring revenue streams;
  • Act as lead 'client-care officer' through direct contact with every client and partner.
  • Strategic Plan Implementation:

  • Provide programmatic leadership and input for all strategic plan implementation processes with the President and CEO and functional staff;
  • Maintain system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan implementation.
  • Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizen
  • DoD Secret Clearance
  • Master's degree, a MBA (Masters in Business Administration) degree with minimum 12 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minimum of 15 years of experience or similar qualifications;
  • Solid domain knowledge of the government contracting industry;
  • Must possess strong managerial and leadership skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to coordinate a vast mass of employees and a high resistance to stress.
  • 10 years of program management experience managing multiple projects through subordinate project managers;
  • 10 years’ experience with government contracts/subcontracts from both a strategic and operational level with proven Federal Government project execution;
  • 10 years’ staff management experience through subordinate supervisors;
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience of managing $250M in annual Revenue
  • Proven track record of year over year revenue growth
  • Proven track record of cross functional relationship with business development organization.
