The Database Analyst s role is to gain an intimate understanding of the company s data and related applications across the enterprise to support enterprise data warehouse, master data management, business intelligence, and in-house development efforts. These actions will be completed in conjunction with data and solutions architects as part of local, regional, and global teams. This position reports to the Manager of Data Systems.


  • Design and develop complex SQL queries, data table structures and appropriate database code such as stored procedures, triggers & functions to support business processes

  • Review and update queries and stored procedures for optimal performance. Identify and correct performance bottlenecks related to SQL code

  • Recommend changes to the relational data model to address data issues with data warehouse, master data, and data mart environments

  • Actively participate in the resolution of production data issues

  • Perform data reviews, providing feedback in a timely manner

  • Participate in the review of database structures and identify impacts to existing environment

  • Maintain data quality through business process/policy and data governance standards

  • Adherence to change control and testing processes for modifications to data systems

  • Documentation of new processes, procedures, and diagrams

  • Ability to evaluate large data sets for data quality issues and assist in resolution

  • Work closely with applications, data, and BI teams to develop end to end solutions


  • Bachelors degree

  • Proficient with writing SQL Server queries

  • Familiarity with Data Warehousing, Master Data Management, and Business Intelligence disciplines

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Technical writing skills preferred

  • Familiar with data-intensive business applications (i.e. ERP, CRM, CPM, HRIS)

  • Familiar with request, incident, and change management protocols preferred (i.e. ITIL)

  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities

  • Strong desire to learn from and contribute to a larger team

  • Strong technical documentation skills

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products

  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language

  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a dynamic business environment
