We need your help to do so.About the Role:Oscar is continuing to expand to new cities across the country, and a key component of this growth is building and maintaining a strong network of providers and facilities that meets all regulatory standards for providing accessible, high quality care to our members.Credentialing is the process by which we review the qualifications of the providers we partner with to ensure they have all certifications to deliver safe, quality care to our members. It is a critical part of our business requiring complex data exchanges and a high degree of regulatory sensitivity.As an Operations Associate on the Credentialing team, you will run and refine Oscar's ongoing credentialing processes to ensure we are maintaining a best-in-class network. You will work closely with our Product and Engineering teams to enhance our internal tools and workflows for collecting, analyzing, and exchanging credentialing data. You will also run our credentialing regulatory activities, including auditing our partners and reporting to regulators and Oscar leadership on any risks in our network. Credentialing is a highly-regulated function and is a critical step that impacts many teams across Oscar.Responsibilities:This role will combine ongoing operations management with long-term strategic thinking to improve our Credentialing system through better policies, tools, and data management.Your primary responsibilities will be to:* Become a subject matter expert in the regulatory and operational requirements of credentialing* Run and drive technical and operational improvements to Oscar's credentialing processes* Collaborate with Oscar's regulatory teams to refine our credentialing standards and policies* Coordinate partner audits and synthesize the results of these audits for leadership meetings* Collect, analyze, and report credentialing metrics and develop solutions for ongoing risksAbout You:While no prior regulatory or credentialing experience is required, the ideal candidate will have a passion for healthcare, a desire to learn about payer-provider operations, and the ability to excel in a highly cross-functional, content-heavy role. Other key components for success include:* A Bachelor's degree with a clear track record of academic excellence* Outstanding critical reading skills and keen attention to detail* Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills* Comfort working with Excel and Google Drive* The flexibility to work both with and without structure* An analytical bent and experience tracking metrics and using data to solve problemsA plus...* 3+ years of work experience or relevant coursework in healthcare, business, compliance, or law* A strong understanding of healthcare operations and/or healthcare policy* A strong regulatory background* Experience in operations management and process improvement* Experience with early-stage enterprisesAt Oscar, being an Equal Opportunity Employer means more than upholding discrimination-free hiring practices.
