Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center Location: US:PA:Hershey Work Type: Full Time FTE: 1.0 Shift: Nights Hours: 11:00a - 7:00p JOB SUMMARY: Responsible to safely and proficiently perform a variety of duties to start, stop, operate, maintain and perform minor repair work on high-pressure boilers, absorption and centrifugal chilling machines, CHP unit and all related support/auxiliary equipment to include many types of pumps, air compressors, water softeners and related equipment. Periodically tour the facility to observe operations, and make necessary equipment adjustments. Log significant observations, record daily meter readings and maintain daily operating logs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required 1 year of experience in industrial boiler plant operations required. A demonstrated understanding of chilled water systems, basic water testing and treatment, and basic mathematical skills required. Ability to read, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions and basic computer skills required. Must be capable of the simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules and wiring diagrams. Operation of forklifts and other power equipment required. Must pass a written and skills demonstration (hands on) test with a minimum score of 75%. Experience in industrial chilled water systems is preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*: Able to stand frequently; walk frequently; sit constantly. Able to lift/carry 0-100 lbs occasionally. Able to push/pull 0-100 lbs occasionally. Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
