ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Assess clients and their families by participating in intake meetings, development of individual treatment plans, children?s service plans, revision of treatment plans, and discharge and aftercare planning.
+ Meet with all clients on a weekly basis for 1:1 individual family therapy or family session
+ Meet with mother and child(ren) as needed to aid mother in behavior management coaching or other clinical issues that arise within the family.
+ Provide training and clinical consultation to staff regarding family systems, family development, group and individual treatment issues and other area of expertise
+ Develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with other clinical/education/administrative staff, the court system, social service agencies, advocacy groups, outpatient therapist
+ Maintain complete, timely, confidential and accurate treatment records, including evaluation reports, progress and case conference notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries and aftercare plans
+ Attend staff meetings and trainings
+ Assist with training and/or educational projects for staff, residents, community etc.
+ Serve as a role model
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
+ Meet with mother and child as needed to aid mother in behavior management coaching or other clinical issues that arise within the family
+ Maintain proper documentation of sessions, collateral meetings, phone calls etc.
+ Co-lead Parenting Group with Child Care Coordinator
+ Lead Crisis Intervention group. Maintain active individual crisis plans for all clients.
+ Lead family support group Saturdays with family and friends
+ Attend DCF meetings- have strong understanding of what constitutes neglect and abuse report accordingly with DCF
+ Coordinate all team meetings for teenage children to attend or onsite support group for teens.
+ Coordinate family events on campus
+ Maintain service plans for all children who are residents at Phoenix House
+ Complete Labor Plans for all pregnant women
+ Complete pregnancy plans for all pregnant women
+ Maintain Monthly Family Census
+ Complete Parenting Relapse Prevention plans with all mothers.
+ Ensure child safety in program using child safety guidelines
+ Oversee coordination of Horizons Play-Pals with Child Service Assistant
+ Oversee coordination of Birthday Wishes monthly birthday parties
+ Supervise Child Care Coordinator and Assistant Service Assistant
+ Ensure Mother and Child Schedule is being implemented on floor
+ Make Early Intervention referrals or other developmental referrals as needed.

+ Knowledge obtained through completion of a Master degree curriculum in a related discipline (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling, marital and family therapy etc.) from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Knowledge obtained through obtained through training in the theory or practice of family therapy, including supervised experience in a setting in which family therapy is provided.
+ Ability to positively work with substance-abusing population
+ Knowledge of State and Federal regulations regarding confidentiality
+ Ability to comply with internal, local, state and federal compliance.
+ Ability to manage the residential community
+ Ability to work and communicate with others.
+ Significant knowledge of healthy child development including mental, cognitive, physical, social and emotional growth
+ Significant knowledge of early childhood development theories and best practices
+ Must be able to screen and refer children in need of mental health assessments and therapy
+ Significant knowledge of impact of addiction, trauma and recovery on children, mother and mother-child relationships
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly and effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to various audiences (clients, staff, management, municipal systems, community programs)
+ Strong organizational skills ? time management, organization of data, organization of physical spaces, organization of daily tasks and weekly responsibilities, ability to multi-task
+ Ability to prioritize tasks
+ Team player and self-starter ? ability to work with others and collaborate AND work autonomously to develop programmatic an client needs fully
+ Solid problem solving, conflict resolution, mediation and crisis intervention skills
+ Creative, ?out of the box? thinker who will generate new, cost effective and attainable ways to achieve position?s goals
+ Professional ? prompt, balanced demeanor, healthy boundary setting (no dual relationships, no work outside of scope of practice, etc.), friendly to all, nonjudgmental, free from gossiping and complaining about clients and/or staff
+ Ability to make quick decisions based on presented information and influences
+ Empathetic and compassionate towards clients, children and their circumstances use to addiction and other traumas
+ Ability to identify and leverage teachable moments
+ Ability to observe unhealthy interactions from mother to child and to coach mother to try healthier way
+ Ability to effectively use supervisory and other supports on the job

+ The work environment is that of a substance abuse treatment milieu.
+ Exposure to clients infected with Hepatitis B, HIV, TB, or other Infectious Diseases is possible.
