Job Title: Director Capital & Engineering Projects

Purpose of Job

Responsible for All CAPEX projects including site builds, expansions, capability improvements and focused projects to improve operation performance and asset management. Responsible for timely completion of all projects

Project Engineers Key Roles/Responsibilities:
  • You will be the leader of technology and projects in the company creating the transition between the old and new (Automation) equipment/machines to make the Glass Plant fully automated
  • Works closely with the senior management/leadership team in defining long-term organizational strategies and roadmaps in terms of Automation and Capital Projects.
  • Significant responsibility for CAPEX, including site builds, expansions, capability improvements and focused projects to improve operation performance and asset management
  • Coordinate and communicate development activities and priorities with the Departmental Managers in order to ensure the successful completion of project objectives.
  • Carrying out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, develop budgets and cost analysis to determine project feasibility
  • Write project scopes and develop project plans and resources to ensure that activities align with organization goals.
  • Collaborates with inter-departmental staff to manage the activities of transit related projects including scoping, scheduling and cost estimating.
  • Establish and maintain effective means of coordinating project plan and schedules with other projects activities; report delays and problems promptly; and take appropriate actions to maintain effective coordination of activities.
  • Monitor and review the work of consultants. Meet with Agency management officials and staff to advise on work activities and resolve problems impacting the scheduled completion of the project.
  • Meet with engineers and contractors to discuss project, specifications, unusual conditions, the contractor-s plan and schedule of operations and other pertinent items conducive to clear understanding of project.
  • Manage the entire projects including the review of change orders, monitoring monthly progress payments to contractors, suppliers and consultants.
  • Responsible for budget-conscious and timely completion of all assigned projects. Take responsibility and accountability for the successful implementation and utilization of new equipment by ensuring appropriate training and awareness of new equipment/machines
  • Communicate understanding and support of organization goals through actions and spoken and written words; interact effectively with individuals and groups at all levels; maintain ties with external organizations.
  • Develop contingency plans to meet unexpected situations, new developments and changes in the project; prepare for emergencies; anticipate events; understand the factors and conditions affecting the project and respond appropriately when these changes.
  • Prepare records and reports on status or problems in the field.

  • Qualifications

    Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Degree in Management will be an additional advantage Desired Skills & Experience
  • 15+ years of overall experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineering Manager or Technical Director of manufacturing unit employing 100+ staff
  • Demonstrable experience of managing high value projects with a proven track record in delivering multiple projects within specified timelines and budget
  • Experience in Glass container industry will be preferred.
