Summary: Company growth has us in the hunt for an experienced consumer insights manager to support and contribute toward our in-house and contracted research & analytics functions in support of marketing, sales and new product development.

This person?s essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Reports to the director of consumer insights and provides support to marketing, sales and other cross-functional business partners to help drive new product development, product rationalization, and to deliver insights against critical product and business objectives
  • Leads and executes custom qualitative and quantitative research including concept testing, shopper insights, consumer targeting and need gap identification, brand and product positioning assessment, brand health tracking analysis, macro trend identification, digital/social and ecommerce insights
  • Applies research tools and techniques across the spectrum of new product development through post launch tracking, e.g. ideation, concept development/testing, segmentation, volumetric estimations, pricing, ad/promo testing, tracking, trial and usage studies
  • Utilizes and analyzes various business intelligence sources using in-house tools and suppliers to produce syndicated data, market level data, custom consumer research, social/digital analytics, retailer customer data, and consumer trends
  • Design insights studies, pulling and analyzing data
  • Helps influence decisions and action planning for both national and regional strategies that drive retail sales and growth
  • To qualify, a person needs:

  • A BS/BA in marketing, market research or related field. MBA preferred
  • 5-6 years of relevant full-time work experience in market research, consumer insights research and data analytics, preferably as a supplier to CPG companies
  • Strategic and tactical thinking with the ability to develop consumer insights from data and research to drive actions for the business
  • Experience with syndicated/custom panel data and standard syndicated data services such as Nielsen/IRI, MRI-Simmons, Numerator, Spectra, etc.
  • A strong understanding of basic and advanced principles of experimental design and analysis across both quantitative and qualitative research
  • Good business judgment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • A proven ability to build collaborative partnerships with effective influencing and listening skills
  • A strong work ethic and service orientation
  • To be able to multi-task and manage competing priorities
