An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to join the Global Airline Distribution team of one of the worlds top travel management companies, Flight Centre Travel Group.

As the Technical Writer, you will lead the execution and delivery of the air distribution strategy for internal and external communications globally and in support of all regions and brands.

This is a new role so you will be integral in executing on our global communication strategy for air distribution. We are looking for a dynamic individual who thrives under pressure and can manage tight deadlines.

The successful candidate will report directly to the EGM for Global Air Distribution, but work closely with other key stakeholders across multiple equity markets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Execute on an established communications and engagement strategy (in conjunction with FCTG and associated brands senior management), specifically related to our development and delivery of NDC to our businesses globally
  • Report directly to EGM Global Air Distribution, but work closely with other key stakeholders across multiple equity markets
  • Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as regional staff intranet sites, monthly magazines and email.
  • Storyboard or translate ideas to creative teams, including briefing designers and external suppliers. You may also be required to work on the creation of content, including video for both internal and external audiences
  • Create visual and written representations of solutions, concepts and technical information for both internal and external audiences.
  • Use social media (Workplace) to communicate with staff internally
  • Work closely with other FCTG internal and external communication staff
  • Deliver presentations at organizational events such as management SWOT meetings
  • Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentations to employees in written and/or spoken form
  • Participate in forums including workshops, for the purpose of articulating and documenting information that may be used for communications
  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments within the organization
  • Ensure internal communication messages are consistent with external communication messages
  • Respond to feedback from staff and adjust communications content accordingly
  • Handle the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation
  • Advise senior executives of developments throughout the organization, either face to face or through regular written communication
  • The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven Industry Knowledge to understand airline distribution and the role it plays in the relationships between airlines and agencies
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, as well as journalistic ability to produce professional communications for internal and external audiences
  • Strong Speaking and communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Creative ability to devise communication strategies for different brands, markets and consumers
  • Some familiarity with information technology, within digital and video means of communication is essential
  • Ability to travel when required
