Currently seeking several Authorization Associates that will be responsible for verifying and obtaining authorizations as required by insurance dependent upon the plan coverage for all patients. The Authorization Associate contacts patients for updated insurance information, where applicable and coordinates with the Regional Care Organizations regarding the information needed for all patients; assists with correcting clerical errors regarding the patient's medical record, authorization and billing issues.

Obtains and maintains all required authorizations for patients;
Contacts physician offices and insurance companies to obtain and provide necessary patient detail to ensure prescription approval;
Contacts insurance companies and escalates issues when approvals are not timely and/or received;
Notifies patients of pending expiration's and coordinates prescription renewal as appropriate;
Maintain account work progress, including but not limited to updating authorization logs, account referral in EMR, authorization paperwork and issue reports;
Assists the patients with the completion of their paperwork;
Cooperate, coordinate and collaborate with clinical staff and Revenue Cycle Operations staff to resolve patient relationship issues;
Maintain working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, Risk Management and Compliance practices

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Must possess strong leadership skills and strong attention to detail.
Must have an understanding of insurance payor reimbursement, authorization, collection practices and practice management systems.
Must have the ability to maintain the confidentiality of all records.
Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and demands given while ensuring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must have effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Must have knowledge of managed care plans.


Entry Level

At least 2 years of experience working in a fast-paced medical facility; physical therapy experience preferred.
One year of insurance authorization experience is preferred.
The Authorization Associate must have an understanding of clinic operations as it relates to patient registration, referrals, authorizations and cash collections.
