A Medical Assistant performs routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the practice of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the practice and the practitioners' specialty.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Other related responsibilities:Represents the clinic in a professional manner in person, in telephone conversations, and in written correspondencePerforms basic functions such as photocopying, scanning and faxingPerforms as Patient Services Representative, as neededAny other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:High School Diploma or GED requiredMedical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NHA or NCCT requiredMinimum two years of experience in a medical office setting requiredKnowledge of medical terminology, preferredKnowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Phlebotomy, EKGVital signs, patient assessmentAdministration of medications (Oral, IM, Sub-q, Intradermal, IV)Ability to work independentlyStrong oral and written communication skills are essentialAttention to accuracy and detailDemonstrates a clear understanding of the importance of teamwork and staff satisfaction
