Looking for a 2019 co-op in an R&D environment at an international company?

Saint-Gobain Research North America has co-op opportunities available for 2019!

As a co-op at Saint-Gobain you would be involved in R&D projects for the duration of your assignment in our R&D Divisions: Ceramics, Abrasives, Adfors, Performance Plastics, CertainTeed and our Competency Research Labs. You would get the opportunity to work with our current R&D team in conducting hands-on laboratory experiments for key development programs.

Apart from that you will have the opportunity to network within the Saint-Gobain organization, attend lunch & learns and enjoy company networking events like our community bazaar!


Our requirements include:

* You are currently enrolled as a student in a BS, MS or PhD program in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering, Ceramics, Design or Data Science.
* You have a creative problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach
* You possess the ability to work safely and effectively with a diverse scientific R&D team
* You are organized and you keep your work documented
* You are able to analyze data and write reports in a clear way
* You can call yourself hands-on and detail-orientated
* You have done literature searches and summarize findings
* You possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
* Previous industrial experience, process scale-up, manufacturing and application knowledge is a plus.


* You have had industrial experience with and training on proper and safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
* You will actively support a culture of safety by being a personal example and by encouraging, empowering, and involving all staff in safety.

The Northboro R&D Center (NRDC) houses Saint-Gobain's High-Performance Materials Group and the CertainTeed brand of building materials. This campus, located about 40 miles outside of Boston, has been a major center for materials research since 1985 with an outstanding record of achievement. The R&D Center is committed to growth through the development of proprietary products based on novel materials and process technologies. Comprising a variety of laboratories, prototyping facilities, open office space, cafeteria, fitness room, basketball court and walking trails, the NRDC campus flourishes with approximately 350 employees from over 30 different countries with a variety of scientific, technical and design disciplines.
