About the Role:

The Executive Chef supervises the entire kitchen operation, including quality production, quantity and costing control, appearance and temperature of the finished product and promptness of service into all dining areas.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the entire kitchen operation, including quality production, quantity and costing control, appearance and temperature of the finished product and promptness of service into all dining areas.
  • Responsible for control of food and kitchen labor costs.
  • Responsible for overseeing the production of daily meals.
  • Responsible for overseeing the production of special functions meal service.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the upkeep of cleanliness in food preparation areas, refrigeration and storage areas.
  • Responsible for knowing health codes applying to food preparation areas.
  • Responsible for supervising the proper storage of all food items.
  • Responsible for ordering all food items as needed on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for safety in food preparation areas.
  • Communicates daily with the Food Service Director.
  • Assists with menu planning based on market availability and popularity of dishes.

  • Required skills and qualifications

    Ability to read and speak English

    Two years or more of experience in restaurant or institutional food preparation

    Able to organize, distribute, and follow through on work production.

    Capable of replacing staffing in times of shortages

    Must be able to relate to and work with the elderly
