Supplier Quality Engineer - Eaton, OhioEssential Function: The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will ensure product delivered from Silfex critical suppliers meets product quality standards and specifications. The SQE will evaluate, train and audit the Quality Management System of critical suppliers. The SQE will assure Process of Record (POR) is understood and maintained. The SQE will ensure controlled continuous improvement of critical suppliers and their processes. Essential Responsibilities: Assure critical suppliers are trained, understand and adhere to ??Process of Record? (POR)/Copy Exact standards and practicesWork with critical suppliers to manage changes to the process and assure review and approval through Silfex and our customersMeasure critical suppliers to evaluate their continued quality performance through a scorecard process and assure improvement over timeManage the maintenance of process documents for critical suppliersManage supplier responsibilities for customer data inquiries, problem investigations, and corrective actionsEvaluate critical suppliers' Quality Management Systems and support improvementWork with critical suppliers to improve SPC systems and provide data as requiredAssist critical suppliers in understanding and improving process capabilityWork with critical suppliers to establish data collection methodologies and define parameters to be monitored to ensure process integrity and maintain process controlConduct periodic process audits to ensure processes are capable and stableSupport critical suppliers in updating process failure mode effect analysis (PFMEA)Support gage repeatability and reproducibility (GR&R) studies to reduce measurement error and establish correlation with Silfex measurement systemsGenerate new ideas or methods on how to significantly reduce defects found in supplier operationsApply lean principles and participate in lean concepts, specifically 5s, value stream mapping, standard work, and mistake proofingUse structured problem solving techniques such as 8D or A3 in daily workAnalyze data sets and communicate key points efficiently verbally and in presentationsCarry out special projects and all other additional duties as assignedPerform all work related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to Silfex management Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. BSME, BSEE, BSIE or similar technical BS degree and 5 years of progressive experience in a Quality Engineer roleExpert knowledge in the concepts and application of SPC in a fast-paced, high-technology manufacturing organizationExperienced in developing process data collection strategiesExperienced in developing control plans and proceduresExpert knowledge of quality assurance tools and methods used for manufacturing processesAbility to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsKnowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Expert in statistical methods and statistical analysis using software such as JMPExperienced user of Lean techniques in a Lean manufacturing environmentAble to effectively interact and communicate with people within the Silfex and outside organizations at all levelsAble to use computer systems, (Ex. MS Word, MS Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Able to demonstrate analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Black or Green belt, or Lean Bronze CertifiedExperience in the Semiconductor industry and experience with POR/Copy Exact principlesPhysical Demands: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
