The candidate will be an essential member of the BMD-CTI-California protein engineering group. He/she will use molecular biology expertise, protein expression, purification and biological characterization in the development of protein therapeutics. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of protein therapeutic discovery and optimization including antibody selection, screening, characterization, and affinity maturation.
The applicant will function as a member of multidisciplinary project teams. He/she will present results and recommendations at project team meetings. The candidate will collaborate closely with other members of BMD, CTI and Pfizer scientists at other sites, and our academic partners to ensure the team meets aggressive project deliverables, goals and timelines. The candidate is expected to embrace and embody the entrepreneurial spirit and biotech-like culture, values and goals of BMD-CTI, and contribute to creating an exciting, collaborative, productive and scientifically rigorous working environment.

BioMedicine Design?s Antibody Engineering Group, based at Center for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI), is seeking a Senior Scientist to discover and engineer therapeutic proteins. The candidate will be an essential member of the BMD-CTI-California protein engineering group. He/she will use molecular biology expertise, protein expression, purification and biological characterization in the development of protein therapeutics. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of protein therapeutic discovery and optimization including antibody selection, screening, characterization, and affinity maturation.

Qualifications:
Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related life science discipline
- 1+ years post Ph.D. experience, or 4-6 years with BS./M.S., in laboratory research, preferably in an industry setting
- Strong molecular biology skills including DNA subcloning, cDNA library building, DNA mutagenesis design and PCR techniques
- Experience in assay development including protein-protein binding assays, protein expression, purification and characterization, ELISA, and Western blot
- Working experience with phage/yeast antibody display libraries is required
- Experience designing panning and screening strategies that will enable the selection of desirable antibodies/peptides against targets
- Next Generation Sequencing and/or CRISPR gene editing technology experience is a plus
- Strong publication record
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- It is essential for the individual to work with other group members as a team


Shift:?9am-5pm Mon-Fri

Qualifications:
1+ years post Ph.D. experience, or 4-6 years with BS./M.S., in laboratory research, preferably in an industry setting
