Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer and the Co-Chairs of the SRZ Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Committee, the Director of Diversity and Inclusion will oversee the firm's D&I initiatives and serve as the subject matter expert on D&I policies, programs and activities. The Director will work closely with Firm leadership, members of the D&I Committee, affinity groups, attorneys and business staff to ensure effective delivery of current and future D&I initiatives. D&I responsibilities are currently spread across various partners, committees and business departments at the firm, and the Director will be tasked with establishing this newly created position and promoting D&I engagement both internally and to clients, law schools and other external organizations.

The Director will be expected to:

* Help formulate, and manage and execute, all firm-wide diversity programs, policies and initiatives to help recruit, develop, retain and promote a diverse population in the firm; Help ensure integration of D&I principles into the firm's culture.

* Develop and promote training programs and materials to educate all SRZ attorneys and business staff on current and emerging D&I topics

* Review current firm policies and procedures through a D&I lens, suggesting updates, changes and additions where necessary

* Work with the professional development team to integrate D&I principles throughout the attorney experience, including mentoring, coaching, feedback and other developmental opportunities

* Work with the recruiting team to strengthen campus outreach to career services offices and student groups; participate in recruiting activities as needed

* Oversee all activities for SRZ's five attorney affinity groups, ensuring that a variety of programs are available to all attorneys at the firm

* Develop a strategy for partnering with external organizations, including firm clients, on D&I focused programs

* Keep up to date on industry programs and developments impacting D&I policy and the recruitment and retention of attorneys and business staff through participation in professional organizations and by forming relationships with others in the D&I field

* Collect, prepare and analyze statistics for all diversity-related survey requests from internal and external parties

* Develop metrics to measure the success of the firm's D&I initiatives and report findings to firm management

* Assist in planning and coordinating all events related to D&I programming, including speaker series, movie nights, heritage month events, happy hours, affinity group lunches and other activities

* Build relationships with all SRZ attorneys and business staff to position yourself as a go-to resource for all D&I related questions and concerns; counsel attorneys and staff as needed

* Assist in maintaining the firm's D&I pages on the SRZ website and intranet

* Work with the marketing team to promote and enhance the SRZ D&I brand

* Assist in preparing the annual D&I budget and monitor the use of D&I funds throughout the year

* Coordinate with the Co-Chairs the regular meetings of the D&I committee and provide administrative support to committee members as needed

Qualifications include:

* 5+ years D&I experience in a professional services firm; law firm experience required

* Experience designing and implementing effective and comprehensive D&I programming

* Extensive knowledge of current trends and innovations in the legal and non-legal D&I space

* Ability to take ownership of projects and move them through to completion

* Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

* Flexibility and creative problem solving skills

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills

* An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to expand a D&I program

* Bachelor's degree required; JD or other advanced degree welcomed
