OverviewSMBC is seeking an Senior Regulatory Reporting Governance OfficerResponsibilitiesPerforms risk-based post report submission reviews of key branch of a foreign bank and BHC regulatory reports.Coordinates, supports and monitors ongoing and upcoming inter-departmental/inter-subsidiary regulatory reporting project initiatives and remediation (i.e. SCCL, CECL, FRB tailoring proposals, etc)Coordinates all regulatory examinations and internal audits.Monitors and ensures cross-departmental compliance to the bank's accountability policy.Tracks emergent regulatory reporting requirements and upcoming changes on existing regulatory reports.Liaises with external industry groups (i.e. IIB, TCH and ABA) on special joint discussions and responses to the regulators' new reporting proposals or changes on the reporting requirements of existing reports.Tracks and monitors all regulatory reporting issues that have been raised to senior management.Prepares monthly regulatory reporting governance status reports for the Controllers department and the various bank committeesPrepares quarterly financial regulatory reporting update for senior management.Ensures and maintains good relationship with various regulators.QualificationsStrong knowledge of BHC or IHC regulatory reporting requirements and report preparationMinimum of 5 years knowledge and experience in the preparation of regulatory reports of financial institutionsMinimum of 5 years public accounting/audit experienceKnowledge or experience in project managementExperience in regulatory governance or regulatory complianceBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is requiredCPA or CFA certified a big plusKnowledge of the Reg Reporter reporting application a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g. COSO 2013)Excellent interpersonal skillsVery good analytical skillsStrong knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
