Responsibilities

SWIFT is looking to expand its business development team. We are looking for a senior Relationship Manager for banking clients in North America to develop and manage long term, strategic customer relationships. This position reports to the head of Business Development, North America and is based in our New York office. This is a position focused on building deep client relationships at a senior level, setting a vision around strategic initiatives, and driving sales success throughout North America. The ideal candidate must have experience partnering with senior executives and a successful track record negotiating and managing complex, solution sales with top tier financial institutions. He/She will also have specific experience working across the banking industry in a relationship management capacity. He/she will be pivotal in developing the overall customer strategy to drive new revenue opportunities, long term partnerships, and increased customer loyalty.

Overall responsibilities include:

* Inhabiting a leading role in a team of NAM banking relationship managers, and act as a team leader
* Identify and develop new business opportunities by establishing, maintaining, and enhancing long term relationships
* Deliver on sales quotas, targets, and overall revenue budget
* Develop and manage long term business/commercial strategy for the banking segment aligned with SWIFT's strategic objectives
* Identify customer needs/market opportunities and grow revenue share across our members
* Develop plans for sales accounts/campaigns in order to achieve and exceed targeted sales objectives generating revenue
* Provide regular tracking and reporting on sales activities
* Liaise and co-ordinate with other SWIFT divisions/departments such as events, marketing, technical services, product management, etc.
* Acquire and maintain market, product, and services knowledge
* Provide regular feedback on your markets and customer feedback on our products and services
* Some travel required - mostly domestic, with some international traveling opportunities as well.
* Represent the company at conferences and industry events

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
* 5+ years of experience working within a bank or vendor providing payments solutions, ideally in a sales management role within payments, cash management, and trade
* Demonstrable history of building long term relationships with customer satisfaction and client retention
* Proven track record of leading solution sales, demonstrating a strong mix of business, technical, and product knowledge executed in a consultative style
* Strong, hands-on team leadership and collaborative experience with the ability to manage and grow account relationships, close high value complex deals, and standardize sales processes
* Clear insights and opinions into the use of new technologies to dematerialise and automate financial transaction processing, such as Blockchain/DLT, AI, APIs, etc.
* Insight and relationships in the banking and payments industry
* Experience in developing strategic plans and the ability to develop innovative service solutions through market research to meet the current and future needs of our customers.
* Ability to prioritise, be proactive, and to maintain discipline to achieve both personal and company goals
* Polished presentation, interpersonal and networking skills
* Keen to learn and be willing to get involved in a wide variety of projects
* Passionate, self-starter with the drive to achieve and surpass objectives

Ideal candidates will have:

* Experience delivering financial messaging solutions to financial institutions, involving data integration and middleware technologies
* Strong negotiation skills: using appropriate influence strategies and interpersonal styles and techniques to gain acceptance of ideas, plans and decisions
* Subject matter expertise of: international trade, correspondent banking, Fedwire and ACH processing, ERP systems integration , accounts payable processing, and reconciliation services
* Knowledge of regulation GDPR, FATF etc., financial crime compliance, and fraud/cyber-crime
