  • Establishes data-driven strategies and timely execution plan for multichannel solicitation efforts to secure annual gifts from individual, corporate and foundation sources.
  • Oversees the work of the Database Manager in assuring the implementation of the plan and updates the moves management.
  • Serves as a prospect manager to develop cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for assigned donors in the $500-$5,000 range, as well as other prospects as assigned. Regularly meets with, speaks with, and corresponds with donors and prospective donors to cultivate them on behalf of the college and to provide effective stewardship of existing donors.
  • Leads the development and execution of all donor recognition and cultivation events to support needs of the fundraising operation. Event Management includes establishing the vision, strategy and budget for each event within the context of the overall stewardship plan, and such planning aspects as coordinating retrieval of mailing list and invitation productions, taking RSVPs, determining and coordinating Institutional Advancement staffing needs for specific events, and conducting event follow up activities.
  • Manages annual and campaign-related solicitation of Cinematheque donors and prospects.
  • Ensures overall integrity and consistency of stewardship and donor relations. Maintains donor reports for major campaigns and special fundraising projects, including schedule of individual pledge payments and reminders. Monitors the fulfillment of donor's wishes and ensures successful internal communication within and outside of Institutional Advancement in cases of endowed and current-use gifts that have specific parameters.
  • Oversees gift processing and database functions, to ensure consistent, high-quality interactions between CIA and all of its donor segments. Works closely with Database Manager, other Directors and colleagues to ensure accurate processing and recognition.
  • Manages all routine stewardship programs, including but not limited to establishing overall approach to acknowledgement of contributions; production of honor roll and signage; routine website updates related to stewardship programs; endowed fund reporting; recognition of CIA Community Partners and special project sponsors to require attribution.

  • Knowledge of the college's mission, tradition, operating/capital needs, and fundraising goals.
  • Requires knowledge of fund-raising techniques, including personal solicitation, mail and phone solicitations; event management and working with volunteer leadership efforts in philanthropic matters; and best practices with regard to gift processing and donor relations
  • Requires database usage skills, and extensive knowledge of Raiser's Edge fundraising software preferred.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to adhere to the Association of Fundraising Professional's Donor Bill of Rights.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal, organization, written and oral communication skills; the ability to think creatively and develop innovative approaches to fundraising, events, and volunteer management; high level of integrity, and strong team orientation; and ability to juggle numerous projects at the same time, time management, and organization skills.
  • Undergraduate degree and minimum five years of experience in a development educational institution or other nonprofit organization. Experience managing professional staff in an advancement operation.
