A family services agency in New York City is currently seeking a licensed professional to join their staff as their newSocial Work Supervisor. In this role, the Social Work Supervisorwill be responsible for hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating theSocial Work staff, Family Worker, and student interns around casework counseling and group work responsibilities, home visits, appropriate case documentation, and advocacy

The Social Work Supervisor will:

  • Complete monthly supervisory case review notes for each case supervised
  • Maintain oversight for meeting contractual obligations and mandates
  • Monitor and oversee Transitions COS cases for day-to-day documentation
  • Ensure that adequate safety and risk assessments are conducted for all families
  • Participate in rotating 24 hour on-call coverage to ensure the safety of and responsiveness to participants
  • Implement and integrate the principles and procedures of Solution Based Casework (SBC)
  • Facilitate case consultation and offer support and guidance to ensure staff are adhering to the tenets of SBC
  • Conduct annual performance evaluation reviews of direct reports and evaluate workers training needs, providing individualized assistance and referrals for training
  • Coordinate intake assessment process and make prompt and appropriate case assignments
  • Participate in staff recruitment and hiring activities
  • Handle other duties, as needed

  • 3+ years of Social Work experience;2+ years of experience in a Supervisory role
  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), LicensedMental Health Counselor, (LMHC) and/orlicensed Creative Art Therapist
  • Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
  • Patient oriented
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Desired Skills

  • 3+ years of experience ina Family Services and/or Child Welfare setting
  • Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience with Substance Abuse Treatment
