Our division provides analytical solutions for biopharma, pharma, life sciences, academic research, environmental, forensics, and food safety markets. We have over 6,000 employees supporting over 15,000 customers worldwide with San Jose site being our largest site.

How will you make an impact?

In this multifaceted role you will manage a team of applications scientists while collaborating with internal mass spectrometry R&D teams, marketing, and sales stakeholders in support of our external customers. You will work with colleagues across the globe and have a unique opportunity to grow and develop the Americas team under your leadership.

What will you do?

Manage and grow the pharma and biopharma brand equity of Thermo Fisher Scientific for all CMD products.

Bring a keen understanding of customer requirements and competitive market dynamics.

Lead workflow definition, testing, validation and resonant marketing content generation.

Collaborate with market development, marketing, business units and R&D teams within CMD to create application roadmaps and deliver resonant customer solutions.

Manage and coordinate competitive bench marking and assist with product/workflow positioning.

Facilitate training and enablement of field demonstration and applications support teams.

Support annual marketing campaigns with voice-of-customer (VOC), technical data and positioning.

Facilitate attendance and content presentation at trade shows, conferences, workshops and sales meetings to support awareness and lead generation.

Work directly with market development and the commercial team to identify key accounts, understand customer needs and provide direction and support on product and workflow positioning.

Build relationships with local regulatory organizations to provide alignment and visibility of Thermo Fisher Scientific products and services.

Organize and support the creation and deployment of commercial sales training to improve selling skills and proper positioning of CMD products and services.

How will you get here?


Ph.D. required, science or pharma based area of study; biopharma, biologics, or instrumentation focus preferred.


10+ years of related mass spectrometry experience.

5+ years of experience leading and mentoring a team.

Previous experience working in an R&D environment within pharmaceuticals or instrumentation.

Product lifecycle experience preferred.

Demonstrated experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry solutions.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Collaborative leadership ability.

Ability to communicate at all levels across the organization coupled with strong presentation skills.
