TraceLink is seeking a full-time, Technical Lead, with extensive experience in Python- and Linux deployment for Cloud Computing and Big Data applications. The position is part of a team responsible for the deployment, management, and operation of TraceLink Life Sciences Cloud Platform. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the technical team lead for the development and maintenance of tools and processes in support of TraceLink's Life Science Cloud. Act as a technical role model and provide guidance, support and mentorship. Design, develop and implement orchestration tools to automate the deployment process for all micro services. Design, develop and implement backend tools for SLA application to provide uptime, downtime, maintenance window on daily, weekly or monthly basis. Follow and enrich the team's SDLC, leveraging common Agile methodologies and TraceLink practices. Communicate with all parts of the TraceLink organization, in both verbal and written capacity. Work closely with management and other departments to assist planning, implementation, documentation, management, troubleshooting, and incremental improvement of processes as they relate to the department and the rest of the company. Assist with the monitoring, reporting and management of TraceLink's cloud platform. This includes system health, security, performance, and metrics. Job Requirements: Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent. 5+ years' experience with Linux based development, with a focus on operations and deployment. Leadership experience (3-5 years) managing/mentoring team(s) in an operational PaaS environment. Experience developing using cloud computing APIs and tools, such as Python Boto and CloudFormation/Terraform. Experience in working with containers (Docker) and their orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes. Experience with Configuration Management tools, such as Puppet and Chef. Excellent general scripting skills, including Python, Boto, AWS-CLI, Bash. Experience interacting with REST APIs and standard data formats such as JSON and YAML. Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English Comfortable with an Agile development methodology (Jira, Scrum, Kanban) Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both closely with a team, and on independent projects. Strong knowledge RHEL/CentOS systems management and troubleshooting in large distributed environments. Preferred Skills and Experience: Experience with a wide range of Amazon AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and Route53, as well as more advanced offerings such as Lambda, Redshift, CloudSearch and Kinesis. Familiarity with monitoring and operations data visualization tools (e.g., Nagios, CloudWatch, Kibana, Grafana) Strong knowledge of database and data storage systems, including Postgres, Redis, MongoDB. Experience with distributed computing and cluster environments, such as Hadoop and Elasticsearch.
