**Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:**



Applies descriptive analytics to analyze data and validate assumptions, understands results. Selects appropriate relevant data and extracts from various internal and external sources. May identify sources. Manipulates raw data sets into information fit for analysis applying needed logic. Presents analysis and recommendations to team members and manager. Supports presentation to business partners. Supports developing reports to monitor business critical results and transitions to appropriate area for continuing production i.e. information development and or data management. Provides required analysis, partnering with team members as needed. Participates in the peer review process. Utilizes established best practices around Descriptive Analytics. May provide guidance to others on assignments. Manages assigned less complex projects under minimal guidance of manager and/or team members. May manage moderately complex projects under general guidance of a manager. Perform other duties as assigned.

**Marketing Description:**



The Claim Business Intelligence & Analytics organization has an exciting opportunity for a Business Performance Analyst. This role will be part of our newly-formed Predictive Model Monitoring team, a team operating in the Agile framework, and will observe and evolve the way we monitor our predictive models. This position will support all lines of business and will provide the opportunity to work with many different tools and technologies, while gaining deep insight into our portfolio of predictive models and how they are monitored. Successful candidates will be able to:

? Understand the end-to-end process of model monitoring from both the \"big picture\" and \"minute detail\" perspectives

? Have a basic understanding of the predictive models that we will be monitoring as well as the business context around them in order to help drive model monitoring in our current paradigm while seeking to evolve our methodology

? Possess the technical ability to carry out model monitoring in our current state (e.g. programming, data visualization tools, statistical process control) as well as have the toolbox to push our model monitoring to the next level



**Job Summary:**



Position is an intermediate level role, requiring previous experience in Descriptive Analytics. Position accountable for performing moderately complex core tasks of Descriptive Analytics (the exploration and investigation of past business performance), partnering with team members on more complex tasks. This job does not manage others This job works under General Supervision: Incumbent independently performs a variety of duties, including potentially complex duties within established policy guidelines; responsible for a defined set of assignments (e.g. assigned customers, claims or other specified set of responsibilities); is expected to set priorities and meet specific goals and objectives of the function or unit. (Typically pertains to advanced/operational, senior professional, unit supervisor)

**Preferred Qualifications:**



? Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy

? Extensive knowledge and understanding of research and analysis, especially in the predictive modeling space

? Knowledge and understanding of technology testing automation and data automation

? Proficiency in statistical programming skills such as in Python, SQL

? Critical thinker with business intuition, intellectual curiosity, and ability to execute.



**Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:**



Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) preferred. Three years of analytics or related experience preferred. Three years working successfully with Microsoft office products or similar products preferred. General knowledge of analytic concepts. Experience with Descriptive Analytic practices and processes. General business knowledge preferred. Developing knowledge of Insurance products/concepts preferred. Experience working on teams. General knowledge of the main features of the collection of data and the relationship of data elements to each other.



**Physical Requirements:**



Operates standard office equipment - Continuously Sitting (Can stand at will) - Continuously Use of Keyboards, Sporadic 10-Key - Continuously



**Minimum Qualifications:**



Two years of analytics experience required.
