Sr. Director, Identity & Access Management Architect
**Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:**
Drives the IAM strategy for all types of identities for the digital business inclusive of both on premise and public cloud solutions. Evaluate ways to combine responsibilities (and thus access) for employee, contractor, vendor, business partner, and even customer/consumer types of identities that can lead to repeated design patterns and lower cost. Act as a key influencer in IAM proof of concepts (POCs), requests for proposals (RFPs), and vendor selection.
Navigates and networks with the technology organization. Collaborate with other technology management teams such as cloud engineering, enterprise architecture, application development, DevOps, help desk, network operations, and other branches of security (endpoint security, mobile security, network security, etc.) to ensure that IAM projects remain feasible and coherent.
Takes stock of all identity populations and helps negotiate federation agreements. Understand and architect how identities underpin system access and cooperate with Procurement to define a framework best aligned with the organization's needs. This includes internal and federated authentication, identity administration, forensics, and collaboration between the company and its business partners. Understand all user repositories and how user attributes flow between the different components. Translates business requirements and policies into business processes. Interview and draft the documentation and have business stakeholders approve them - before translating them into any IAM technology backed process.
Translates business processes into long-lasting, defensible architectural blueprints.
Design user repository schema, diagramming logical IAM deployment, and partitioning the IAM solution into on-premises and cloud-hosted SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and IDaaS) components. Responsible for designing processes for: 1) audit report generation and maintenance for compliance; 2) software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies; 3) policy migration; and 4) business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR).
Vets IAM technology and services, both on premise and in public cloud. When working with IAM vendors (e.g. products or SaaS services), the IAM Architect must vet, validate, and improve design proposals, including documenting the final design for the source-controlled project repository.
Communicates requirements and oversees in-house and external resources. Communicate clearly synthesized IAM requirements to in-house app developers, other IAM architects, enterprise architects, and network operation personnel.

Senior Director Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect will ensure that IAM solutions will meet business requirements and strategy direction for the long term in a secure, cost-effective way. The IAM Architect will lead the overall IAM transformation at Travelers including replacing and enhancing web access management, single sign-on, and Identity Governance tools and processes and modernizing solutions to work effectively in a hybrid cloud environment.

**Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:**
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. 9 years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture preferred. 5 years of experience managing others and/or technical teams.

High School diploma or equivalent required. 6 years of experience in enterprise, application, and/or information architecture required. 3 years of experience managing others and/or technical teams.
