The Registered Respiratory Therapist shall be responsible for the administration of respiratory care offered by the Respiratory Care Department. These direct patient care services are provided to all ages of patients. They shall function clinically with a considerable amount of independent judgment regarding the delivery of quality patient care. The therapist will serve as a technical resource person to the physicians and other health care workers, with regard to current practices in respiratory care in accordance with department policy and procedures. The therapist may also be responsible for an area or shift in the absence of a supervisor. This position may be required to work at any campus. Full access to respiratory medications is given to the incumbent of this position because they are required by their job responsibilities to handle, prepare, or administer respiratory medications as dictated by scope of practice regulationsEducation: Associate in Science, Respiratory Care.Experience: At least one year clinical experience, preferred.Licensure: Current State of CT Respiratory Care Practitioner License.Credentials: Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care.Skills: Thorough knowledge of the procedures and patient care techniques involved in the delivery of respiratory care.
