The Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) at Tufts University is seeking applicants for the position of Associate Director for Programming, a key leadership role within the Center.

This position provides an opportunity for an experienced, seasoned faculty developer to work closely with the Director as part of the leadership of CELT. As the Associate Director for Programming, you will be joining a dynamic, collaborative team that works together to develop new and innovative programming to support faculty in their teaching mission. As part of the Office of the Provost, we work across all Tufts campuses and are supported by an enthusiastic, interdisciplinary faculty advisory board. CELT recently was awarded the Champion of Collaboration Award for successfully building diverse and productive relationships across and beyond the University. Specifically, the position will:
Assist the Director with the management, delivery and assessment of on-going program initiatives which may include CELT signature programming such as CELT Fellows, Institutes for Course Design, Learning Assessment and Inclusive Teaching Develop new programming that supports the Provost s strategic initiatives related to inclusion and diversity, technology, teaching evaluation, universal design and teaching awards Assist the Director in supervision of professional staff Collaborate with departments and consult with faculty related to faculty development needs in departments and school-based initiatives Participate where appropriate in Graduate Student teaching and learning initiatives Provide teaching and curriculum consultations with Tufts faculty on all campuses Participate in current CELT initiatives such as the CELT Fellows, the Course Design Institute, the Mid-term Feedback Program, the Institute for Learning Assessment, the Inclusive Learning Institute and develop future programming as needed Contribute to the Center research mission on the scholarship of teaching and learning Develop initiatives for grant funding and participate in current NSF and Foundation grants Participate in regional and national conferences to present the work of CELT Collaborate across disciplines on campuses and partner where appropriate with other Tufts departments and offices Serve as CELT representative on university and school-based committees as appropriate

Qualifications Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience as typically acquired through completion Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education, higher education or related discipline 5-10 years of progressive leadership in a Teaching Center Experience in designing, promoting and evaluating faculty development programming in a Research One institution Knowledge of current and emerging best practices in the field of faculty development Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse populations A creative and motivated self-starter who can develop and implement tested and emerging ideas from the field Excellent writing and oral communication skills Flexibility to participate where needed in programs and activities of CELT Strong facilitation skills Preferred Qualifications:
Teaching experience at the University level Experience with curriculum development Experience in leadership and mentoring program development SoTL or educational publication record
