TULA Skincare is looking for a Director of Operations to lead our operations strategy, day to day execution, and team. You will be an early hire at a high-growth startup, so you should thrive on problem-solving, possess the desire to learn in a fast-paced environment, be willing to pitch in wherever needed, and enjoy celebrating the wins (both big and small). This role will report directly to the VP of Finance & Operations. TULA headquarters are in NoMad NYC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish strategic direction and set goals for the operations of TULA, including rapid scaling and growth management, cost, quality, delivery and customer satisfaction - across both DTC ecommerce business and wholesale / retail partners
  • Directly oversee and manage all manufacturing/operations functions day to day, including supplier quality, supply management, demand planning and global logistics
  • Own and manage our 3PL relationship; ensure partnership is aligned with TULA strategic goals and 3PL is positioned for success in supporting us in meeting those goals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors & suppliers including contract manufacturers and third-party logistics; review contracts and negotiate terms
  • Establish and maintain a best in class QA approach, process, checks, and controls with all vendors & suppliers
  • Oversee the team and ensure team structure and growth plans are sufficient to drive operational excellence for TULA and team needs
  • Implement processes and systems to generate higher operational ROI and workflow optimization as we drive rapid growth
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures and best practices for performance monitoring in order to optimize quality & delivery time
  • Set, own & manage the operational budgets to deliver to profit targets
  • Partner with Leadership team and individual department heads to ensure our operational priorities are aligned with our strategic business & team goals


  • 10+ years in operations having exposure across all key operational functions with specific experience in contract manufacturing and third party logistics in the consumer goods industry
  • Start-up experience preferred
  • A connector; youre able to connect the dots between fulfillment centers and Customer Experience and Operations teams, ensuring everyone is in constant communication, knows the goals, and is inspired to achieve them, together
  • A track record of building high-performing teams; you know how to hire, train and retain top talent
  • Strong project management and continuous improvement skills
  • Advanced understanding of budgetary concepts; youre able to build out processes with financials, KPIs, and metrics at top of mind
