Here UL offers global, one-stop wind energy services to lenders and investors, turbine manufacturers, component manufacturers, project developers, utilities and other companies.?


Grow and develop our North America Renewables Asset Management business


Our Customers are both onshore and offshore wind farm and solar developers, lenders and investors, operators, wind turbine and component manufacturers, among others. Being responsible for the North American Asset Management business you play a key role in identifying, expanding and supporting our customers to satisfy their operational project?s needs, including performance reviews, analysis and optimization/improvement plans, O&M strategy and contracting, annual O&M plan and budget/cost reviews, site inspections, root cost analysis, Life Time Extension, performance monitoring services, interpretation of operational data provided by digital monitoring platforms and other services.


The primary responsibility of this new position will be to expand our Asset Management business in North America through existing and new clients, as well as to support growth of other parts of the Renewables business as needed (e.g. electrical characteristics testing). ?Ability to organize and lead quality projects is strongly desirable. Hence, your job will be to:

  • Co-develop and execute a plan to expand and grow Asset Management in North America in collaboration with the corresponding service line leaders. Work with different internal teams to form strategy and identify strengths and skills gaps.
  • Establish and maintain a long-term and trustful relationship with our customers in that area.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary teams executing high profile projects in the asset management area.
  • Lead teams in compiling and completing work to ensure a high quality of work that meets and exceeds client expectations. We expect you to be involved in project management.
  • Represent UL at industry events, trade fairs and working groups promoting our services to develop commercial opportunities.
  • Support the team in developing annual revenue and business plans and identify specific growth areas in North America for our services in Asset Management.
  • Support the development of a network of special service providers and engineers in areas not covered by UL but required to provide a comprehensive service.
  • Work independently on an international team.

Ideally, this position will be located in one of our offices such as San Diego, Albany or Chicago with consideration for other locations. You will collaborate with the rest of the Global commercial team and will work closely with other service lines. You will be physically located alongside UL colleagues from different fields, however, in this role, all business related collaboration is managed remotely. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy working independently and are prepared to structure your daily work tasks. High level of autonomy and proactivity will be required, together with the ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization.

To succeed in this role, you will have several years of experience in the renewables north American market ? ideally Asset Management related services with a strong customer focus.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the renewable industry. In addition, you should possess:

  • University degree in engineering or similar.
  • 5-10 years? experience in the north American renewable industry, ideally in an OEM, operator, Developer or Advisor. Ideally in the operational assets business.
  • Deep understanding of the renewable project lifecycle, specifically in the operational part of the value chain.
  • Strong Technical background and demonstrated experience related with Asset Management services (asset owners and operators).
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Good knowledge of legal requirements, technical standards and best practices.
  • Strong customer focus and strong interpersonal skills to establish trustful relationships, ability to sell and to close orders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally.
  • Ability to promote our services to technical and commercial decision makers, lenders, investors as well as to engineers evaluating our service.
  • Significant business travel and work outside of the office is required.
