In this role, you will provide leadership in the management and development of Behavioral Health expansion for the state of New York. You will be empowered to do your best to develop the strategy and vision for the NY Behavioral Case Management program overseeing the Case Management team. This individual will also be responsible for establishing collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders, gathering accurate requirements, and evaluating the programs performance to enhance our mission of helping people live healthier lives.The Associate Director, Behavioral Health Case Management will serve as the SME; working directly with the state, responsible to understand and comply with NY Office of MH contractual requirements. This would include attending all state meetings, ensuring contractual compliance, and reporting delivery of services. This role is responsible for managing the partnership between UM and CM, and will be responsible for collaborating on the development of policies and procedures, program updates, all BH CM readiness reviews, and Corrective Action Plans.If you are located in the New York City area, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:* Navigate and influence multiple cross-functional teams in a complex, matrix work environment* Ensure the integration of Medical and Behavioral Health services and long-term services and supports, as applicable* Support the development of market strategies and value proposition* Assist with forecasting operational opportunities associated with the development of new state initiatives* Serve as the behavioral health clinical lead to the customer, state, and community stakeholders* Define and develop local market performance against contractual, clinical, and affordability targets* Manage cross-segment projects and initiatives that require problem solving, relationship building, influencing, and analyzing, including clinical, operational, network, reporting, and affordability teams* Adapt Behavioral Health plans and priorities to address business and operational challenges* Influence innovation across teams to ensure aligned, cohesive progress across technology, communications, and service operations* Oversight, tracking, and reporting clinical requirements and performance standards set by the customer and the state* Establish strategic priorities for overall affordability initiatives* Collect and deliver required clinical operations customer reporting, as well as develop action plans to address performance issues* Identify and analyze local market trends, service gaps, and the development of mitigation strategies aligned with our strategic priorities* Demonstrate an effective, adaptive leadership style that promotes innovation, accountability, and establishes work priorities* Travel throughout the state of NY to client and state meetingsRequired Qualifications:* Licensed Clinical Social Worker* 5 years of health care industry experience* 5 years of behavioral health managed care experience, including case management experience* 2 years management experience* Experience working with teams in a matrix organization* Proven ability to develop relationships cross-functionally and work with operational teams toward common goals* Strong project management skills, including risk and contingency management* Ability to effectively deal with moderate levels of ambiguity, effectively coping with change and shifting priorities* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills* Effective formal presentation and facilitation skills for internal audiences* Travel 25% within the state of NYPreferred Qualifications* MBA, MS, or other advanced degreeCareers with Optum.
