In the Industrial Measurements business unit, our global team develops measurement equipment and sells to thousands of Vaisala's customers in building automation, life science, power transmission and many other industrial application markets such as HVAC, automotive and food industries. This individual will report to an Inside Sales Manager and work with a team of other insides sales representatives and application engineers. This role will manage and support industrial instrument sales and related activity, including pre-sales technical support, quoting, opportunity management, and outreach sales activities for North America. Your key responsibilities include

- Promote instrument sales to customers via phone, email, and live chat
- Provide pre-sales technical support via phone, email, and live chat
- Work within department guidelines to achieve yearly team targets
- Generate opportunities and customer touch points through outreach sales activities
- Work with outside sales team to identify strategic clients
- Qualify leads, prepare quotations, close deals, and follow-up
- Input customer data and daily activity utilizing CRM tools
- Represent company at trade shows and events Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, we're searching for a candidate with the following qualifications:
Educational Requirements:
- B. Sc. in an engineering or technical discipline; or equivalent and related technical sales experience
Skills and Knowledge:
- High level of comfort communicating technical concepts, product features, and benefits via phone, email, and live chat
- Fluent English speaker with excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM software
- Team attitude with the ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Knowledge of sales and delivery process with strong negotiation skills
- Basic understanding of technical documentation
- Reliable, acts with a sense of urgency and integrity that aligns with Vaisala values
- Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis, solve problems and develop solid product and services knowledge
- Continuous learning mind-set with ability to lead-self through time management, organization, and prioritizing tasks
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Required Work Experience:
- 1+ years sales and/or customer facing role preferred
- Experience selling or supporting instrumentation and/or controls
