Job Description

Draft and negotiate agreements with third-parties, including customers, vendors and consultants; coordinate with internal stakeholders, including, without limitation, management, business units, sales and Strategic Sourcing and Procurement, to identify and advise on legal risks and contractual issues and in the interpretation of contracts and other documentation; streamline the process for review and approval with appropriate Verisk personnel; and continually improve standard form agreements and internal processes and implement best practices.

Assist stakeholders with legal issues relating to the development of new products and the modification of existing products.

Review documents and ensure compliance with Verisks business practices requirements, implement and interpret Verisk internal policies and procedures.

Assist in responses to RFPs and RFIs and coordinating responses to information security/legal/HR/compliance/insurance-related issues.

Provide additional support on various projects and administrative duties.

Support overseas offices with contracting needs.

Qualifications

Must have an undergraduate degree and a JD degree from a top law school.

Admission to New Jersey Bar (or Admission to other state bar with NJ Limited License for In-House Counsel).

At least 3 years of combined relevant legal experience; experience at a law firm is strongly preferred.

Strong corporate law and transactional experience with deep expertise in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

Keen understanding and interest in intellectual property, data privacy and security issues, particularly as it relates to data analytics.

Insurance industry experience a plus.

Effective negotiator with a good sense for practical business solutions to problems.

Self-assured and comfortable handling matters independently.

Energetic with a dynamic personality and can inspire the confidence of the business team, management, departmental colleagues and other support groups.

Excellent negotiation, drafting, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.

Extremely well-organized and have excellent attention to detail.

Effectively prioritize and manage multiple matters in a timely manner.
