The Contracts Associate's primary function is supporting the Rating and Underwriting Sales Team in the licensing of products and services. You will be a member of a team that is responsible for the complete life cycle of a licensing agreement or contract. This is a dynamic and fast paced role with a demanding work load. You will work with the Rating and Underwriting sales teams (and occasionally those from other business units) to determine the proper contract needed for the product and/or services being licensed. The ideal candidate would be one experienced in drafting contracts and multi-tasking. The Contracts Associate is part of the Corporate Operations division with its home base in the corporate headquarters in Jersey City, N.J. About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role * Review requests and draft Product Supplements, Master Agreements and other contracts utilizing standardized templates; collaborate with sales and product owners to ensure all contract specifications are accurate; effectively and efficiently manage all phases of the contract process. * Effectively partner with the Law department and other Subject Matter Experts to ensure successful negotiations, resulting in effective agreements which have properly mitigated risk. * Manage relationships with Customer Service, Sales, Finance and others to implement and improve contract processing workflows including tracking within CRM. * Ad-hoc projects as assigned * Completes all responsibilities as outlined on annual Performance Plan. * Completes all special projects and other duties as assigned. * Bachelor's degree required; JD degree strongly preferred * 2-4 years experience with contract management including drafting and revising * Solid understanding of contract law, contract language and principles, and applicable legislation * Ability to work in a collaborative environment and work proactively with business units * Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail * Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills * Possess a high level of integrity and sensitivity to confidential information * Strong organization, effective planning, problem solving, and analytical skills required * Superior communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to liaise comfortably with all levels of management * Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing situations or urgent requests that may arise with little or no notice * Must exhibit initiative and assertiveness in obtaining information needed to proceed with projects and accomplish tasks with minimal supervision * Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation #LI-JB1 Verisk Analytics is an equal opportunity employer.
