The Vice President is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the human resources and training and development departments. As a member of the executive management team, the Vice President will lead and direct all of the HR & Training functions of the credit union to meet the needs of the management team, staff and membership. A key focus of the position will be to develop and execute a human resource and training strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization.. Reports to: President/CEO. Supervises: 7. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Vice President partners with the team to develop strategic goals, policies, and programs that align credit union administration functions with business initiatives.. Develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps across all functions and levels of the company. Areas will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training and development for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the company and industry.. Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team in the design, development and administration of the annual bonus programs as well as short and long term incentive programs including equity based compensation plans. Ensure compensation programs are cost efficient and effective in achieving the priorities of attraction and retention of top talent.. Direct Benefits Plan Administration to include compliance with government regulations.. Recommends changes or additions to the program to reflect employee and Credit Union's needs. Assures compliance with all legal requirements of various employee benefit programs and prepares and files required legal reports.. Coordinates sponsored employee services and activities designed to enhance employee/ organization relationships. Administers employee relations programs, performance management system, employee communications, EAP program, new employee orientation, service award programs, and social activities. Recommends new programs or changes to existing programs.. Identify and present opportunities for process improvement, implementation of best practices, and introduction of new approaches to enhance organizational productivity.. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE. Ten years to fifteen years of progressive management roles with emphasis in Human Resources or Training related leadership.. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, business or related field, SHRM SCP or SPHR Certification highly desired.. Must be able to travel independently and operate all types of office equipment including telephone, copy machine, computer, calculator, and fax machine..
